For 2025 we are rolling out opportunities for exciting fresh beer tours for Northern England - across the panoramic North Yorkshire Moors, the idyllic Yorkshire Dales, and the majestic Lake District.

Star Tour

The Star Tour will be a spectacular Coast-to-Coast Beer Odyssey - starting in the bustling harbour town of Whitby - joining up the three individual tours across the trio of gloriously scenic National Parks.

The single area tours will run over two or three days in the sweeping moorland of the North York Moors - offering opportunities to enjoy a trip on a classic steam railway to the village featured in TV's famous Heartbeat' series - the Yorkshire Dales where we find the beguiling Herriot Vet Country of All Creatures Great and Small and the dramatic high peaks of the English Lake District - celebrated in the work of bards Wordsworth and Coleridge.

Well established

These tours add to well-established itineraries in North West England, North Wales, and Shropshire. For more than 10 years Chester-based Beer Tours UK has hosted guests from Australia, the United States, Scandinavia, and Japan alongside home groups, with an ethos to visit hidden and hard-to-reach beer venues.

Veterans and Novices

The bespoke tours welcome both veteran beer enthusiasts and novices alike, often groups of family and friends for special occasions, while still meeting the needs of the lone traveller.

Our aim remains to seek out the hidden gemstones of British cask-conditioned ale and pubs. Nowadays, in tune with the market, we visit brewers producing both cask and craft keg ales - however,

we firmly hold that cask ale makes for unique journeys of beer discovery. Also, many overseas visitors wish to try a British pint in a proper British pub – we meet that desire in spades. Many of those visitors see only London and Edinburgh, so for beer lovers we fill in the gap to reveal the glory of Northern England and its wonderful world of beer and pubs.

Flexibility

With great flexibility, if required, we can dovetail tours with parties undertaking activities such as walking or other outdoor pursuits, touring historic castles, or enjoying heritage railways.  Our Star Tour will take us from the bustling Whitby harbour town on Yorkshire’s dramatic North Sea coastline to cross the mountainous Pennine spine of the North to the Cumbrian shores of the Irish Sea.

There's a lot to see around the beautiful breweries and warmly welcoming pubs - pubs to savour and remember with delight whether you visit from Brighton UK or Boston USA.

A comment from - Johanna Ahnfelt, Gothenburg, Sweden:

" It was definitely an unforgettable journey. I sometimes dream myself back with delight and remember the wonderful places, the atmosphere and the friendly brewers, the good beers and, above all, the cosy pubs you showed us."

This is a beer journey to remember. Please come and join us.

We are always very happy to talk through our tours.

Please note: Prices will be quoted on request to suit the individual tours.

To effectively run these tours we will require a minimum of seven people, either in a small group or individuals.

We have made it. Cheers!

Here is what one guest said after his second tour with us that took his Three Peaks mountain walking party from the Scottish Highlands through Lakeland to Snowdonia and the rolling plains and hills of Cheshire and Shropshire:

"Our second trip dubbed “Peaks and Pints” in 2022 was just as well planned out and managed that we hardly had to focus on the trip, except for which bitter on the tap might be worth the glass. It was completely effortless when in the hands of Beer Tours UK.

"To top it all off, Steve’s keen palate and support of the local brewers' work are top-notch. He knows the places he arranges to take you, understands the history, and is always great to provide the information at every location. Our trips without Steve would not be the same, every time you are in transport with him it is an adventure. You can’t do beer better than with Beer Tours UK."
